Your role
The Senior Risk Officer leads and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects that support the department's risk management objectives.
Working as part of a team of three Senior Risk Officers, the role is responsible for driving the delivery, continuous improvement and implementation of the department's enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation, policies, standards and best-practice risk management principles.
Provide expert risk management advice to support the development, promotion, and implementation of enterprise risk management policies, frameworks, and practices across the Department.
This includes facilitating strategic and operational risk assessments with the Executive Leadership Team, Divisional Executive Teams, and the Enterprise Risk Management Committee to identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
The monitoring, review, and reporting on Divisional risk registers, supporting the Chief Risk Officer in enhancing organisational risk maturity, building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and assisting the Manager in the ongoing development, implementation, and improvement of the Department's enterprise risk management framework.
You will be part of a small 5 person Enterprise Risk Team.
We provide guidance to all parts of DCJ.
The Enterprise Risk Team is part of Governance, Risk & Compliance, reporting to the Deputy Secretary Corporate Services.




The Team is a mix of collaboration on large projects while individual members work independently on their business partner work.
We work from the office together Mon & Tue.
There are a lot of tight timeframes to meet reporting requirements for the Executive as well as the Audit & Risk Committee.
What we're looking for
In addition to the essential requirements outlined in the role description, the ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in Risk Management.
Robust understanding of ISO***** Risk Management Standard.
Strong understanding of climate risk assessment and reporting.
Proven ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels to promote risk awareness.
Experience in preparing risk reports and briefings for executives.
