Ethnographic Researcher 12-month fixed term (potential for extensions) Do work that matters We are a mixed-method and ethnographic research program designed to better understand the financial behaviours and needs of young adult Australians.
Originally inspired by the U.S. Financial Diaries, the program works with a panel comprising dozens of participants across several Australian cities and regional centres, over months or years.
A small research team collects demographic, financial and observational data.
These data sets are synthesised to develop impactful insights and reporting, which are then used by senior industry stakeholders to inform customer, product and service strategies, industry policies and staff training.
Tracking household finances is the starting point to uncover complex dimensions of Australians' financial lives,

including their views on the economy, use of different financial products and future hopes and aspirations.
The program offers opportunities for the research findings to be published in industry or academic outlets and presented at industry, government or academic events.
See yourself in the team We are currently seeking an experienced Ethnographic Researcher to help deliver the next phase of this program.
This role will report to the Research Lead and be responsible for end-to-end fieldwork, including participant management, field preparation, conducting field research, post-interview synthesis
