The role works as part of a multidisciplinary team and contributes to positive patient outcomes, clinical governance, service quality and the achievement of agreed activity and funded program requirements.
The role's primary accountability is direct clinical care.
Where formally agreed and supported by an appropriate workload allocation, the Clinical Psychologist may also contribute to clinical trials, research projects, professional training, supervision, service development and research-translation activities.
Duties Responsibilities Clinical assessment and care Provide advanced level Psychology services including a range of individualised and group clinical care based on professional training, clinical formulation, trauma-informed principles, recovery-oriented, culturally-responsive guidance reflecting current ethical clinical practice as required.
Provide comprehensive assessment and care planning, monitoring client/patient progress, assessing and responding to safety or risk concerns (including external referrals when required), adjusting treatment accordingly for complex management.




Deliver manualised interventions with high fidelity and complete research trial monitoring as required.
Liaise with multi-disciplinary team to promote effective communication including verbal and written feedback to referring Doctor as required.
Maintain ethical and professional standards and professional development as required by relevant professional bodies and the Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA.
Maintain appropriate clinical records reflecting adherence to BDI policies, ACHS and legal requirements.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and research projects relevant to the needs of clients and current clinical practice.
P rofessional Development Participate regularly in clinical supervision and continues ongoing professional development through education.
Accept responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise.
Act as a role model for staff in promoting professional values and ethics.

Communicate effectively with all clients utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication Work Health and Safety Comply with applicable work health and safety legislation and BDI policies, procedures and reasonable directions.

Identify and report hazards, incidents and psychosocial risks, and participate in agreed risk controls.
Use available support and escalation pathways when workload, exposure to clinical material or workplace circumstances may affect safe practice.
Note: the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the Institute may change or request additional activities to meet the operational needs of the business Skills Experience Required Essential An accredited postgraduate Master's or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology of at least two years full-time equivalent duration.
General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia through AHPRA, with Clinical Psychology endorsement or eligibility to progress to endorsement, and Medicare provider eligibility where required by the role.
Demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment, including formulation, care planning, risk assessment and outcome monitoring.
Demonstrated capability in contemporary psychotherapeutic approaches relevant to the appointed stream, which may include CBT, DBT, ACT, schema-focused therapy, EMDR or other evidence-based modalities.
Experience providing both time-limited and, where appropriate,



longer-term psychological intervention to people with complex mental health needs.
Sound understanding of clinical governance, privacy, informed consent, skilled ethics, record keeping and patient safety requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary service and communicate effectively with patients, carers, referrers and colleagues.
Ability to manage an agreed caseload, meet documentation and activity requirements, and escalate clinical or workload risks appropriately.
Commitment to culturally protected, inclusive, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
Current NSW WWCC or willingness to obtain one Desirable Experience working with presentations relevant to the appointed stream, including trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, health professionals or emergency service workers.
Experience delivering group interventions or manualised treatment programs.
Experience contributing to clinical trials, research projects, service evaluation or implementation initiatives.
Approved supervisor status or experience supervising psychologists, provisional psychologists or students.
Experience developing or delivering professional education, workshops or research-translation activities.
