Contracts Specialist Work Type: Permanent Full Time Location: Emerald Remuneration: Stream A, Level 6 - 7: $126,****** - $144,****** per annum inclusive of superannuation locality allowance Directorate: Corporate Services Take your contract management expertise to the next level with a role that matters!
Join our team as the contract management expert driving governance, performance and value across Council, where you'll provide expert advice, strengthen governance, support high-value contracts, and help ensure Council achieves value for money while managing risk and driving continuous improvement.
The position acts as a business partner to contract owners and contract managers and provides direct support for strategic, high-value and high-risk contracts across Council.
The role is also responsible for maintaining contract management systems, reporting and registers, monitoring compliance with Council's contract management framework and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
In this role, you will support Procurement Legal team by: Coordinate the implementation and ongoing improvement of Council's Contract Management Framework.
Monitor compliance with contract management requirements and recommend corrective actions where deficiencies are identified.
Monitor supplier performance against contractual requirements, KPIs and service standards.
Prepare governance reports relating to contract performance, risk, compliance and organisational maturity.
Leading,
mentoring and supporting a multi-disciplinary team Establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and providing exceptional customer service To be considered for this opportunity, you will need: Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Commerce, Business, Law, Project Management or related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar role.
QLD drivers' licence.
Knowledge of contract management principles, methodologies and best practice.
Sound understanding of procurement governance and public sector procurement.
Knowledge of contract law fundamentals and commercial contracting principles.
Knowledge of risk management and supplier performance management methodologies.
Knowledge of local government legislation and governance requirements.
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of, and experience with, procurement, tendering and contract management principles and procedures.
