Leading Insurance Group Can be based in Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane $*******k + super / Hybrid mode A leading global insurer is seeking a skilled Reinsurance Accountant to join their Reinsurance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role will manage reinsurance treaty accounting and administration working closely with the broader Finance team to support month-end reporting, statutory compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Prepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reporting for the reinsurance function Calculate reinsurance treaty premium adjustments, reinstatement premiums and profit commissions Complete reporting schedules and local reporting requirements, including Withholding Tax returns and ABS Survey reinsurance components Prepare and review reinsurance statutory reports and schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines Reconcile debtor positions and oversee credit control,



ensuring premiums are paid on time Support audit queries and maintain controls across all reinsurance transactions Contribute to process improvement, automation and centralisation initiatives within the Reinsurance and wider Finance team About You Experience in commercial insurance, preferably within reinsurance accounting or general insurance CA/CPA qualification - or working towards Advanced Excel skills, analytical skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity and competing deadlines Full working rights in Australia required This is a 12 month FTC and can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane .
