Theatre Technician Operating Theatre | Western District Health Service Part Time – Permanent – 48 hours per fortnight Hamilton, Victoria $30 - $***** per hour (dependent on experience) + Superannuation + Salary Packaging Benefits Join a supportive perioperative team delivering high-quality patient care Support safe and efficient surgical services Western District Health Service is seeking motivated and reliable Theatre Technician to join our Operating Theatre team.
As a key member of the perioperative team, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our surgical services by preparing operating theatres, supporting patient care activities, maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean, safe and organised theatre environment.
Whether you are bringing previous theatre experience or looking to build a rewarding career in healthcare, this position provides a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where your contribution directly supports positive patient outcomes.
On-the-job training will be provided.
What You'll Be Doing Theatre Preparation Support Prepare operating theatres, equipment and supplies prior to operating sessions, ensuring theatres are ready for safe and efficient clinical use.
Patient Care Assistance Assist with patient transfers, positioning and theatre support activities while maintaining patient dignity, safety and comfort.
Equipment Management Support the safe use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of equipment, identifying faults and initiating maintenance requests when required.
Theatre Environment Infection Prevention Assist with cleaning and maintaining operating theatre environments during and following theatre lists in accordance with infection prevention and perioperative standards.
Stock Control Logistics Restock supplies and consumables, assist with specimen handling and support the efficient day-to-day operation of the theatre suite.




What You Bring Minimum Year 11 qualification Experience in an operating theatre or healthcare environment is desirable but not essential Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Willingness to undertake training and professional development Experience working with children Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Current NDIS Worker Screening Check Current Working with Children Check Current Driver's Licence Rights to work in Australia Why Join Western District Health Service?
