About the Role: Signature Staff has multiple opportunities for qualified chefs and experienced cooks across diverse hospitality and care environments in Cairns and surrounding regions.
This role offers genuine variety and flexibility, with ongoing contract assignments across resorts, motels, five-star island properties, pubs, aged care facilities, mining camps and care facilities.
Key Responsibilities: – Prepare and cook food to the required standard – Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment – Work effectively within different kitchen teams – Maintain professional presentation and hygiene standards – Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff – Adapt to different kitchen systems, menus and team structures Mandatory Requirements: – Solid commercial cooking experience – Ability to work effectively in different kitchen environments – Excellent communication skills and spoken English – Professional presentation and ability to maintain a clean working environment – Own chef uniform and knives – Unrestricted, permanent Australian work rights (preferred), or working holiday visa – Ability to complete medical and drug testing for some positions Desirable Requirements: – Trade qualifications (Chef positions)
– Driver's licence (may be required for some assignments) What's on Offer: – Employees work under an Individual Flexible Agreement with flat Monday-Saturday rate, Sunday rate and public holiday rates – Superannuation additional – Accommodation, meals and flights included for applicable assignments – Flexibility on assignment lengths, allowing you to choose short-term or longer placements – Gain diverse experience across different hospitality and care environments Working Hours: This is contract work with variable hours depending on the assignment.
Shifts may include mornings, days, evenings and weekends.
You should be versatile to work across different shift patterns, including weekends, nights, public holidays and potentially overtime depending on the assignment.
