Description
PTC Phone Tech & Comm is looking for an
HR & Recruitment Specialist
to join our Head Office team in Crestmead.
This is a hands-on role for someone who already has experience across recruitment and HR support and is ready to broaden their capability, take greater ownership and develop across the wider HR function.
You'll manage end-to-end recruitment across an allocated portfolio while working closely with our HR Lead across employee relations, performance management, Award interpretation, workplace investigations, contracts, policies and broader HR matters.
We're looking for someone who can balance professionalism with personality.
You'll need sound judgement, initiative, adaptability and a positive approach, along with the confidence to represent the Company professionally.
You'll also need to embrace technology.
Being proficient with AI tools, or demonstrating the capability and willingness to become proficient quickly, is an essential requirement of this role.
About PTC
PTC Phone Tech & Comm is an Australian technology retailer specialising in smart device solutions, including accessories, repairs, pre-owned devices and related services.
With a growing retail network and diverse Head Office and operational teams, our HR function supports employees and leaders across multiple locations and disciplines.
Our values guide how we work:
Sincerity | Simplicity | Trust | Challenge | Teamwork
What You'll Be Doing
This is not purely a recruitment role.
You'll take ownership of recruitment while becoming an important part of our broader HR function, including:
Managing end-to-end recruitment across retail, Head Office and operational positions
Advertising, proactive sourcing, screening, interviewing and candidate assessment
Partnering with hiring leaders to understand vacancies and workforce requirements
Managing contracts, variations, onboarding, probation and offboarding processes
Providing practical HR support to employees and leaders
Supporting attendance, punctuality, performance, conduct and employee relations matters
Preparing HR correspondence, meeting documentation, warnings and employee records
Supporting structured performance management processes
Participating in employee meetings, workplace investigations and grievance matters
Researching and applying Modern Awards and Fair Work requirements
Supporting employment conditions, classifications and entitlement enquiries
Maintaining accurate HR systems, records, reporting and people data
Contributing to policies, HR projects, process improvement, systems and automation
As your capability develops, you'll progressively take greater ownership of employee relations, investigations, performance management, workplace compliance and other areas across the HR portfolio.
Who We're Looking For
You may currently be an
HR Coordinator, HR & Recruitment Coordinator, Recruitment Specialist or developing HR Advisor
who is ready to broaden your experience and take on greater responsibility.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience across recruitment and HR administration, coordination or generalist HR support
Confidence managing end-to-end recruitment with a high level of ownership
A good understanding of the employee lifecycle
Experience preparing employment and HR documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisation
Confidence communicating professionally with employees and leaders at different levels
Sound judgement and the ability to represent the Company professionally and appropriately
The ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and appropriate professional boundaries
Flexibility and adaptability when priorities and business requirements change
A practical, solutions-focused approach when unexpected matters arise
Initiative, accountability and a willingness to follow matters through to completion
A positive, personable approach and a positive sense of humour, while knowing when situations require professionalism, sensitivity and discretion
Experience with
Modern Awards, Fair Work requirements, performance management, investigations or employee relations
will be highly regarded, but you don't need to have mastered every area already.
What matters is having strong HR foundations, sound judgement and the ability to learn quickly.
AI & Technology – Essential
Technology and AI are part of how we work.
We actively use
AI, automation and digital tools
to improve recruitment, communication, research, documentation, reporting and HR processes.
You must be proficient in using AI tools or demonstrate the
capability and willingness to become proficient quickly
.
The use of AI and technology will form part of the day-to-day requirements of this position.
This is an essential requirement of the role.
You don't need to be an AI expert on day one.
You do need to be curious, comfortable with technology and willing to embrace new ways of working.
You'll be expected to use AI responsibly and effectively while applying appropriate human judgement, confidentiality and HR oversight.
What Will Make You Successful?
Technical HR knowledge matters, but
how you operate is equally important.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
Take ownership rather than waiting to be told every next step
Represent the Company professionally and consider the broader business impact of your actions and advice
Understand that HR requires balancing employee support, business requirements and workplace obligations
Are flexible and adaptable when the day doesn't go according to plan
Can prioritise competing recruitment and HR demands without losing attention to detail
Follow through on commitments and keep the right people informed
Are comfortable having professional and sometimes challenging conversations
Can have a laugh and contribute positively to the team while recognising when a matter requires sensitivity and discretion
Research, investigate and ask questions when you don't know the answer
Embrace AI, automation and technology to improve the way you work
Exercise sound judgement about when to act independently and when something needs to be escalated
Want to continue learning rather than staying within the boundaries of what you already know
Why Join PTC?
This role offers more than filling vacancies or processing HR administration.
You'll work closely with our HR Lead and gain practical exposure across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, Modern Awards and broader HR operations.
You'll be supported to develop, but you'll also be expected to take initiative and ownership.
As your knowledge, capability and confidence grow, so will the scope and complexity of the HR matters you can manage.
For someone looking to progress from recruitment or HR coordination into a broader generalist HR career, this is an opportunity to gain practical experience rather than waiting for the next title to come along.
And while HR can be serious business,
we don't believe the people doing it have to be serious every minute of the day.
If you're adaptable, switched on, willing to embrace AI, can have a laugh and are ready to challenge yourself in the next stage of your HR career,
we'd like to hear from you.
Company Overview
More than a workplace: PTC is a community where teamwork, growth, and purpose drive everything we do.
