If you know your way around heavy vehicle parts and enjoy solving technical enquiries rather than simply looking up part numbers, this could be a strong next move.
Our client is seeking two Parts Interpreters for its Distribution Centre in Wacol following internal staff movements.
You'll support dealers and branches with technical parts enquiries covering engines, transmissions, chassis and related components, working closely with internal departments and OEM partners to find the right solutions.
This is a salaried position offering approximately $85,000–$95,000, depending on experience, with the upper end aimed at candidates bringing strong heavy vehicle expertise.
There is also a bonus program worth up to approximately $5,000 per year, along with the option to work from home one day each week after probation.
What you'll be doing You'll respond to technical parts enquiries from dealers and branches, research engine, transmission and chassis components, and liaise with OEM partners when an issue requires further investigation.
You'll also work across purchasing, operations and the distribution centre to assist with part availability, new part-number creation, outstanding orders, delivery timelines and difficult-to-source components.
Beyond day-to-day enquiries,

you'll help capture feedback from the field, identify potential new stock requirements and contribute to inventory and process improvements.
Training customers in the use of electronic parts tools will also form part of the position.
What we're looking for Heavy vehicle or heavy-duty engine experience is strongly preferred.
Automotive parts experience may be considered, but candidates who understand trucks, commercial vehicles or heavy engines will have a transparent advantage.
You'll need strong customer service skills, a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly with dealers, colleagues and suppliers.
Experience with systems such as ERA would be beneficial.
Penske-specific systems knowledge is uncommon and therefore not essential, while confidence learning electronic parts, inventory and CRM platforms will be important.
If you're ready to move into a technically focused parts role with a major commercial vehicle organisation, we'd like to hear from you.
