Senior Substation Engineer | Renewables BESS Projects | 6-Month Contract Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to support the delivery of major renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
This contract opportunity will see you contributing to the design and delivery of large-scale renewable energy, BESS and HV substation projects, providing technical expertise across engineering design, studies, verification and project delivery.
About the Role Working within a high-performing engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering substation and renewable energy infrastructure projects from concept design through to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities Lead engineering activities across HV substation, BESS and renewable energy projects Develop and review primary electrical designs and engineering studies Prepare and review substation layouts, earthing, cabling and associated infrastructure designs Undertake engineering studies including earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing and insulation coordination Support HV equipment specification,



procurement and technical evaluations Provide technical guidance and support to project teams Review engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project and industry standards Support construction and commissioning through technical advice and issue resolution About You You are an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in HV substation, renewable energy and BESS projects.
Key Requirements Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering Chartered Engineer status, or eligibility to obtain 8+ years' experience in HV substation or primary systems engineering Experience delivering renewable energy and/or BESS projects Strong knowledge of primary plant design, earthing systems and HV infrastructure Experience undertaking and reviewing engineering studies and calculations Robust communication and stakeholder engagement skills What's on Offer Immediate start available Initial 6-month contract with extension potential Work on major renewable energy and BESS projects Collaborative engineering environment Opportunity to contribute to Australia's energy transition If you're an experienced Senior Substation Engineer looking for your next contract chance, we'd love to hear from you.
