We're looking for reliable locals to join MADEC in a casual driver and worker support role, assisting workers participating in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme.
This is primarily a practical, transport-focused role – helping workers get safely where they need to be – with some additional liaison and wellbeing support along the way.
It could be perfect for someone looking to pick up flexible extra hours, particularly if you enjoy being out on the road, meeting people and lending a hand when needed.
What you'll do Transport workers to appointments, workplaces and other required locations Assist with worker pick-ups, drop-offs and travel arrangements Confidently transport both individuals and larger groups, including navigating domestic and international airport pick-ups and drop-offs Undertake routine vehicle inspections and checks to help ensure vehicles remain safe, clean and ready for use Report vehicle maintenance, safety or operational concerns promptly Help workers access local services and community facilities Build friendly, respectful relationships with workers Provide practical assistance when unexpected needs arise Identify and escalate wellbeing, workplace or accommodation concerns to the MADEC team Provide occasional after-hours or time-sensitive support when required About you You don't need a community services background.
We're looking for someone who is dependable,
approachable and genuinely comfortable spending time behind the wheel.
You'll bring: A current driver's licence and confidence driving regularly Confidence transporting individuals and larger groups Comfort navigating busy airport environments and coordinating passenger pick-ups and drop-offs Strong knowledge of Werribee and the surrounding area A responsible approach to vehicle safety and basic vehicle checks Reliability, punctuality and positive time management Great communication and people skills A culturally sensitive and respectful approach Confidence working independently and adapting when plans change Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities is great, but not essential.
The important bits This is a casual position, with hours varying according to worker and operational needs.
Transport requirements may include early mornings, evenings, airport transfers and occasional time-sensitive support, so flexibility and reliability are important.
Because you'll be supporting workers across the local area, we're particularly looking for someone genuinely local to Werribee and able to respond when required.
If you're looking for flexible casual work that gets you out on the road while doing something worthwhile, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and help keep our PALM Scheme workers moving, connected and supported.
