What you will do
As Recreation Officer, you will coordinate and deliver recreation programs and activities.
You will help people in custody build skills and prepare for release.
You will:
coordinate
varied
sporting and recreation activities for people in custody
provide
explicit
coaching, instruction and training during recreation activities
maintain
safe
recreation equipment and organise resources for activities
prepare
accurate
reports and data about recreation services
support
safe
prison operations through searches, patrols, directions and other security duties
About you
A Certificate III in Fitness or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
Experience in supporting people who face barriers to participation is also important.
You should also have:
practical
experience facilitating or coordinating sporting and recreation activities
respectful
communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
flexible
and adaptable approach when priorities or situations change
sound
problem-solving skills and the ability to work safely with others
