Repair Technician - Expression of Interest
At
PTC Phone Tech & Comm
, technology is at the heart of what we do.
Since ****, our family‐owned Australian business has grown to more than 80 stores nationwide, with our expertise spanning device repairs, mobile technology, accessories and an expanding range of specialty electronic devices.
As technology evolves, so do we.
We're continuing to expand our repair capabilities and are seeking
Expressions of Interest from experienced Repair Technicians
who want to be part of what's next.
The Opportunity
We're building our talent pool for future
Repair Technician opportunities within our Head Office Repair Team in Crestmead
.
These aren't traditional phone repair roles.
Our growing repair operations work across an increasingly diverse range of
electronic and electromechanical devices
, which may include:
Robot vacuum cleaners and other robotic devices
Electric scooters and e‐mobility products
Smart home and connected devices
Specialty electronic and electromechanical equipment
You'll diagnose faults, investigate problems, dismantle and repair devices, replace components, test your work and get technology functioning as it should.
If you're naturally curious about
how things work - and even more interested in why they've stopped working - this could be for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Depending on the products and repair stream you're working within, your responsibilities may include:
Diagnosing electronic, electrical and mechanical faults.
Disassembling devices and identifying failed or damaged components.
Completing repairs, component replacement, reassembly and testing.
Troubleshooting faults that aren't immediately obvious.
Following technical procedures and manufacturer requirements.
Completing quality checks before repaired products are returned.
Accurately recording faults, repairs, parts and outcomes.
Managing your repair workload while maintaining quality and turnaround expectations.
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised technical workspace.
Working collaboratively with other technicians and sharing technical knowledge.
Continuously developing your skills as new products and technologies are introduced.
Who We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from people with
genuine hands‐on repair experience
.
Your experience doesn't need to be in mobile phones.
You may have worked with
robotics, robot vacuum cleaners, scooters, e‐bikes, consumer electronics, computers, laptops, small appliances, electrical equipment or other electronic/mechanical devices
.
What matters most is that you can demonstrate that you know how to
diagnose a fault rather than simply replace a product
.
You'll ideally bring:
Previous hands‐on electronic, electrical or mechanical repair experience.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability.
Confidence using tools and working with components and assemblies.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your repairs.
Strong problem‐solving skills and technical curiosity.
The ability to follow technical instructions and repair procedures accurately.
Good organisation and time management.
The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative repair team.
Physical capability to safely handle equipment weighing up to 25kg.
A genuine interest in learning current devices and technologies.
Experience repairing
robotic devices, consumer electronics or e‐mobility products
will be particularly highly regarded.

Continue developing your diagnostic and repair capability as we introduce new products and repair streams.

Salary packages based on skills, experience and the requirements of the position.
Recognition:
Join a business where technical capability, initiative and quality workmanship are valued.

Our Recruitment Process
As this is an
Expression of Interest
, submitting your details allows our HR team to consider you for suitable current and upcoming Repair Technician opportunities.
Where your experience aligns with an available opportunity, our recruitment process may include:
Phone Screening

Interested in What's Next?
If you're an experienced repairer who enjoys
diagnosing problems, understanding how technology works and bringing devices back to life
, we'd like to hear from you.
Even if your repair background isn't in phones,
don't rule yourself out
.
