Clinical Nurse Educator – Anaesthetics
Are you an experienced nurse educator, senior anaesthetic nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Anaesthetics, with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, who thrives in a complex clinical environment and is passionate about supporting nurses to feel confident, capable and valued in their roles?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Clinical Nurse Educator in Anaesthetics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), one of Australia's leading quaternary referral hospitals.
This is an prospect to make a meaningful impact across a complex 24/7 specialty service, supporting staff through education, clinical guidance and professional development — ultimately helping to strengthen patient safety, staff confidence and retention.
What you'll be doing
This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys a challenge and wants to work alongside experienced clinicians in a highly specialised environment.
You will play a key role in:
Supporting nurses working in a complex anaesthetic environment to develop and maintain their clinical capability
Providing education, coaching and clinical support to staff across a 24/7 service
Building staff confidence and capability in managing complex anaesthesia
Promoting safe, evidence-based clinical practice and positive patient outcomes
Supporting staff through the challenges of working in a high-acuity specialty
Contributing to a positive learning culture where staff feel supported,
empowered and confident in their roles
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to identify education needs and drive improvements in practice
What we're looking for
We are seeking a passionate and experienced nurse educator who brings both strong clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to developing others.
To be successful, you will have:
Relevant experience in nursing education and teaching, with a minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
Recent clinical experience in providing care and support in complex anaesthesia
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with staff at all levels
A supportive and approachable manner, with a genuine interest in helping others succeed
The ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced and constantly evolving clinical environment
A commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous improvement
