Western Sydney Local Health District's Chronic and Complex Care (CAC) service supports older people to restore, improve and maintain their physical, functional and cognitive wellbeing. Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll play a pivotal role in helping clients remain independent and continue living safely within their communities. What you'll be doing
As the
Senior Occupational Therapist
, you will provide clinical leadership, service coordination and governance for Occupational Therapy services within the Chronic and Complex Care team. You will balance a clinical caseload with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality, timely and outcome-focused care for older people with complex care needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and coordinating Occupational Therapy service delivery, including referral management, workload allocation and clinical governance
Delivering comprehensive assessments and interventions that support safe and independent community living
Providing supervision, mentoring and professional support to Occupational Therapists, students and allied health staff
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, medical practitioners and community partners to deliver integrated, client-centred care
Driving service improvement, quality initiatives, workforce development and evidence-based practice to enhance client outcomes
Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy
Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as an Occupational Therapist
Selection Criteria:
1.



Substantial post graduate experience and skills in Occupational Therapy assessment, planning and evaluating interventions for clients with chronic and complex health conditions.
2. Demonstrated experience and ability in qualified and clinical supervision, and support of staff
3. Able to utilise relevant evidence based, best practice guidelines to guide decision making for best client outcomes
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
5. High-level written and oral communication skills, computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and databases
6. Current Drivers License valid within Australia and willingness to use for work purposes
