Key responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and direction to all kitchen, dining, barista and laundry services employees
n
Recruit, induct, train and support staff under direction
n
Develop and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient use of labour
n
Monitor staff performance and undertake coaching, performance development and performance management where required
n
Oversee the daily operation of the commercial kitchen, laundry, barista and dining services
n
Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, portion control and service
n
Ensure compliance with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Food Standards Code, relevant State Food Act and Regulations, Food Safety Program requirements and Aged Care Quality Standards
n
Prepare and manage annual catering, hospitality and laundry budgets and monitor expenditure against budget targets
n
Lead the delivery of a high-quality, dignified and resident-centred dining experience
n
Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff and contractors to ensure services are delivered efficiently and to organisational standards
n

About you
n

Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary hospitality teams
n




Demonstrated understanding of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and Charter of Aged Care Rights
n
Experience managing commercial kitchen budgets and financial performance with a demonstrated ability to work within budgets and manage stock effectively
n
Strong communication, teamwork, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
n
Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and resident wellbeing
n
Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or equivalent (Commercial Cookery) with demonstrated knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles
n
Experience preparing meals in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or a similar workplace and knowledge of nutrition and hydration requirements for older people
n
Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
n
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic management systems
n
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
n
