We're excited to welcome an Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to our Ophthalmology Service.
The Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is required to lead and deliver expert clinical leadership in the provision and coordination of contemporary, person-centred care.
The successful applicant will be expected to work as a defined clinical specialist within a dynamic health environment at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice.
The CNC is expected to demonstrate an advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice and decision making in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
The Ophthalmology Service will provide expert medical and surgical eye care for patients with elective and emergency complexities.
The service will be coordinated from Caloundra Health Service (CHS) and will support 'spoke' units at Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) and Gympie Hospital (GH).
The CNC Ophthalmology (Interventional) will undertake various nurse led clinics including intra ocular pressure assessment clinics using Goldmann applanation tonometry, post operative cataract surgery clinics and rapid access patient assessment clinics at SCUH and CHS.
Additionally, the Interventional CNC will be expected to perform various ophthalmic procedures including intravitreal injections to ophthalmology patients for macular conditions, Crosslinking and lead innovative models of care within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.

Salary between $******* - $******* p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $***** - $***** p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation ******%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (One fixed term temporary full time or temporary part time position available for six months)
