The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is Australia's specialist medical college for rural and remote medicine. With more than 7,000 members across Australia, we are dedicated to supporting rural generalists and improving health outcomes in rural, remote and First Nations communities.
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Manager Risk & Compliance to lead and continually strengthen our risk, compliance and assurance frameworks. This is a newly established leadership role that offers the opportunity to influence organisational governance, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to an organisation with a strong social purpose.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of ACRRM's enterprise risk and compliance framework.
Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Governance Committees, you will help build organisational capability, ensure compliance obligations are met, and support a culture of accountability, transparency and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and maintain ACRRM's enterprise risk management framework
Identify, assess, monitor and report on strategic, operational, regulatory and reputational risks
Develop and oversee compliance frameworks, registers and reporting processes
Provide practical advice to leaders regarding risk management and compliance obligations
Manage incident, breach and issue reporting processes
Coordinate risk, compliance and assurance reporting for executives, committees and the Board
Develop risk dashboards,



metrics and insights that support effective governance
Deliver training, guidance and awareness initiatives to improve organisational capability
Drive continuous improvement of risk, compliance and assurance systems and processes.
About You
You are a confident risk and compliance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and turning complex requirements into practical solutions.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Governance, Compliance, Law, Business, Accounting, Audit or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in risk, compliance, governance, assurance or audit roles
Experience developing and implementing risk and compliance frameworks
Strong understanding of enterprise risk management and governance practices
Experience preparing reports for executive leadership, boards or governance committees
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong analytical capability, sound judgement and attention to detail
The ability to influence, educate and build capability across a diverse organisation.
