Support national STEM education initiatives

Join CSIRO's Education and Outreach team and help create meaningful connections with schools, industry and community partners.
The Opportunity
CSIRO's Education and Outreach team is seeking two motivated Engagement Officers to support the recruitment, onboarding, engagement and retention of participants, volunteers and partners across our national STEM education initiatives.
Working as part of a collaborative and dispersed Delivery team, you will help connect education, industry and community stakeholders with relevant CSIRO Education and Outreach opportunities. You will support the delivery of programs that enhance STEM teaching and learning, foster inclusion and equity, strengthen student pathways, promote partnerships and community engagement, and embed Indigenous knowledges and engagement in STEM.
This role will suit someone with strong communication, relationship management and project administration skills, who enjoys working with diverse stakeholders and contributing to programs that create real impact for young people, educators and communities.
Your high-level duties will include:
Supporting the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers,
participants and community organisations.
Coordinating applications and assessing eligibility across multiple STEM education programs.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders from education, industry and community sectors.
Facilitating partnerships and supporting successful stakeholder engagement activities.
Managing participant and program data to support reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement.
Assisting with capability-building activities, events and program delivery.
Contributing to process documentation, reporting and stakeholder communications.
Location
Any CSIRO site with an Education and Outreach presence, including Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.
Salary
AU$73K to AU$93K pa (pro-rata for part-time) + 15.4% superannuation
Tenure
Specified Term of 18 months – Full time and Part time (0.6 FTE)

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, STEM education, Science Communication and/or equivalent experience.
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated project administration experience and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risks and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and working independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication for different audiences.
An understanding of how to work safely with children and young people.
