About the role
The role of Receptionist (Grade 1) Community Health is to provide an effective and efficient reception/administrative service across Barwon Health sites and contribute to the overall performance of Barwon Health to ensure high quality customer service. A focus of this role is ensuring that the administration functions support the patient journey core principles of access and patient centred care with a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional front-of-house reception services, welcoming clients, visitors and the public and assisting with general enquiries.
Manage incoming telephone calls and enquiries, directing them to the appropriate staff or department in a courteous and timely manner.
Deliver accurate, clear and up-to-date information to clients and visitors, ensuring a responsive and customer-focused service.
Process and maintain patient correspondence, registrations and requests through accurate data entry and record management in IPMS and related systems.
Support service operations by participating in patient/staff rounding and AIDET practices, assisting with the Needle and Syringe Exchange Program, and handling cash receipting and banking in line with policy.
What we're looking for
Current Victorian Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
Demonstrated experience in a busy reception or administrative role within a confidential environment.
Strong computer and keyboard skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, internet use and electronic information systems/databases.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a courteous approach and strong commitment to confidentiality and patient privacy.
Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively in a high-pressure environment.
