Help prisoners prepare for release and build safer lives after prison.You will assess risk, support parole applications and coordinate transition services.You will work with prisoners, prison staff and service providers.You can make a practical difference to people preparing to return to the community.
Fixed-Term (until 30/09/2027), Part-Time role earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super.
What you will do
As Assessment and Transition Coordinator, you will support prisoners through assessment, parole and release.You will help deliver programs and services that support safe community transition.
complete risk and needs assessments and support parole applicationshelp prisoners access transition and reintegration programswork with prison staff and service providers to coordinate pre- and post-release supportkeep accurate records and program data to support planning and service deliveryshare assessment, parole and program information with prisoners, prison staff, Community Correctional Services and the Adult Parole Board.
About you
You will understand the challenges prisoners can face when preparing for release. You will also have the ability to use risk assessment tools with individual prisoners.
You should also have:




experience or understanding of prisoner transition and reintegration needsconfidence using risk assessment tools with individual prisonersthe ability to work with people who may be hard to work with, alone or in groupsthe ability to work calmly and collaboratively in a prison setting.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
