VLA are seeking an experienced Project and Engagement Coordinator to support the work of the Victims Legal Service.
Full time maximum term position to December **** (part time applications considered – minimum 0.8 FTE)
Salary range: $104,925 - $122,409 plus super
Up to $15,900 in salary packaging, flexible hybrid work arrangement
About the role
In this role you will support the project coordination of and engagement for the Victims Legal Service, a collaborative initiative of the Victorian legal assistance sector.
You will work within a team to deliver actions to support the Victims Legal Service, with a particular focus on the newly expanded pilot where we are partnering with Victoria's forthcoming Justice Navigator Pilot to strengthen referral pathways, including restorative justice pathways, helping victims and survivors understand and exercise their rights and navigate the various support and justice options available to them.
You will lead collaboration and engagement with key internal and external stakeholders including our Victims Legal Service partners, including Aboriginal-led legal services, community legal centres, specialist sexual assault services and lived experience experts to assist the sector to better meet victims' needs.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines, including demonstrated experience in the monitoring and evaluation of projects.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to influence and negotiate with people across all levels, including the ability to positively engage with clients who experience social, cultural, and economic disadvantage.




Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to plan and co-produce resource needs, working with a project management framework.
Demonstrated experience working with Victorian First Peoples communities, including an understanding of First Peoples cultures, cultural protocols and self-determination, and the demonstrated ability to lead culturally safe practice, build respectful partnerships and improve outcomes for First Peoples (highly desirable).
Demonstrated experience working with people with lived experience including inembeddinglived experiencein co-design of resources and in service design, delivery and/or evaluation (highly desirable).

About the Victims Legal Service
The Victims Legal Service provides legal information, advice,



referrals and support to victims of crime in relation to injury or loss because of a crime. The Victims Legal Service can help victims of crime in relation to financial assistance, restitution and compensation from the person who committed the crime, protecting confidential communications and health information during court proceedings for victims of sexual violence and connecting with other support services to provide further help. It is a free service provided in partnership through Victoria Legal Aid, Community Legal Centres and Aboriginal legal services.
