About the role
In this role, you will manage the City's inventory and procurement activities, ensuring materials and supplies are available when needed. You will oversee ordering, receiving, storage and tracking, maintain accurate records, monitor stock levels and support effective, cost effective and compliant supply chain operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Carry out tasks in stores, ensuring customer and community satisfaction.
Understanding of purchasing processes, procurement principles, and the associated administrative requirements to achieve best value outcomes.
Ability to use computers including both stores and purchasing related software.
Provide timely customer service and procurement support to meet operational needs.
Complete deliveries and collections safely, accurately, and on time.
Ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained stores facilities, equipment, and inventory.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience working in a stores or inventory environment, with the ability to learn new processes and systems on the job. You will also bring relevant training, qualifications or courses, along with a strong commitment to providing reliable and efficient service.
Experience:
Track record of effectively contributing to stores.
Some experience in resolving minor work specific problems or responding to new situations.
Knowledge of safe working and manual handling techniques and procedures.
Ability to train junior team members.
Forklift and Front-End Loader licences would be advantageous.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
