About the Role
Working closely with the RTBA Chief Financial Officer, General Manager and key stakeholders, the position further provides expert financial analysis, governance oversight and strategic advice to support operational and financial decision-making. The role also drives continuous improvement in reconciliation methodologies, reporting, financial controls and assurance processes, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and audit requirements while strengthening confidence in the RTBA's financial management framework.
The Senior Financial Analyst is also responsible for leading the financial reconciliation function for the RTBA Bond Management System, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and completeness of bond transactions and financial records. The role oversees complex reconciliation processes across high-volume financial transactions, identifies and resolves discrepancies, and maintains a robust control setting that supports the safeguarding of bond funds.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee the RTBA's bond management system reconciliation function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial records while driving continuous improvement to processes, internal controls and governance frameworks to minimise financial and operational risk.
Deliver authoritative financial advice, analysis and insights to senior RTBA stakeholders, supporting compliance, informed decision-making, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and the identification of emerging risks and opportunities.
Provide high-quality financial reports, briefings and recommendations to the RTBA Audit Committee, governance forums and senior stakeholders, while managing audit, assurance and Financial Management Act compliance activities to strengthen accountability and financial controls.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating and influencing across the RTBA and broader service network to resolve complex financial issues, improve service delivery and achieve organisational objectives.
About You
We are seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience from the following criteria:
Demonstrated ability to apply and implement financial governance frameworks, including internal controls, audit requirements, reconciliations and compliance processes, within complex operational or system environments
Proven ability to analyse, interpret and verify large and complex financial datasets, producing accurate reporting and insights
Demonstrated capability in working with financial, management or ERP systems (including system implementations or upgrades), with a strong focus on data integrity, reconciliation processes, system controls and end-to-end financial workflow
