DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY: Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for a broad range of financial accounting duties, including financial reporting, preparation and maintenance of general ledger, month-end and year-end closing, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls and compliance, Taxation, and supporting the business team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Support the Finance Manager in overseeing the finance activities of the ANZ business.Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including payroll, expenses, accruals, prepayments, consolidation eliminations and one-off large transactions, ensuring accurate and timely month-end reporting.Prepare monthly P&L; and Balance Sheet variance analysis and commentary.Prepare and maintain monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure data integrity.Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of intercompany transactions.Manage Accounts Payable activities, including oversight of China Shared Services.Manage Accounts Receivable activities and communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances and queries.Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by gathering,
analysing and consolidating financial data from various departments.Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required and participating in finance-related projectsPrepare and upload monthly payroll tax returns.Prepare and submit monthly tax information to Fluke Corporate Tax.Prepare and submit quarterly ABS returns.Prepare and lodge GST/BAS and FBT returns and lodgements and assist with tax audits and preparation of tax returns.Ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation and company policies.
Take a lead role in year-end financial statement audits, ensuring audit support is accurate, complete and provided to external auditors in a timely manner.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls to meet internal and external audit requirements.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, SOX regulations and company policies by monitoring and enforcing internal controls and procedures REQUIREMENTS: Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)5+ years commercial experience in Financial Accountant roles demonstrating outstanding progressionContinuous improvement mindset – a willingness to embrace change and evolveStrong understanding of Australian Taxation and various accounting standardsAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsFamiliar with ERP system, Oracle knowledge is a plusAbility to work independently and within a team environmentShow an ability to take the initiative and problem solveEnergetic and self-motivated
