to join our Forensic Mental Health Team
!
The primary purpose of the role of Staff Specialist in Psychiatry (Forensic Mental Health) is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Forensic Psychiatry, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Burudyara Forensic Mental Health Unit and Hospital as required.
The Burudyara Forensic Mental Health Unit is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility established as part of the NSW Statewide Mental Health Infrastructure Program. Located on the grounds of the Concord Centre for Mental Health, the Unit provides 18 medium secure and 24 low secure forensic mental health beds, significantly expanding access to specialised care.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA),



and Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award, with or working towards Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry.
Positions are currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.
Salaryand conditions are in accordance withthe NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
