War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, iREAP Day Rehabilitation program, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, and Day Centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. It is set within beautiful tranquil grounds and is a well-supported team environment.

This role provides high quality neuropsychology services to clients of War Memorial Hospital (WMH) consistent with Uniting, NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. It enables provision of neurorehabilitation to inpatients and integrated Rehabilitation for Early Dementia (iREADi) clients, (and outpatient and community clients as required) at WMH (sub-acute aged care rehabilitation); with clients presenting with a wide range of age-related disorders of cognition and behaviour associated with multi-factorial geriatric syndromes, including dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, acute confusion, frontal syndromes and other neurological conditions.
This position is a permanent part time, 16 hour per week role.
Selection Criteria
1. Full Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) with Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology (or eligibility to progress towards same), along with a minimum two-year full-time APAC-accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology
2. Extensive experience in the provision of neuropsychological assessment,
the interpretation of psychometric data and provision of neuropsychological reports and feedback in the context of aged rehabilitation.
3. Extensive experience in the assessment of decision-making capacity and demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation
4. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff
5. Demonstrate high level written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills
6. Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a health setting
7. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and research
All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.
