Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

An established food manufacturing business in the Northern Rivers is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead a multi-skilled engineering and maintenance team within a high-throughput processing operation.

This is a key frontline leadership position with responsibility for a team of approximately 15–20 tradespeople and apprentices. The role sits between the maintenance team, engineering leadership and production, ensuring maintenance activities are effectively prioritised and the plant continues to operate safely and reliably.

While a strong electrical foundation is important, this is not purely a hands-on technical position. The priority is finding someone who can lead people, build capability, manage competing priorities and create accountability within a busy operational environment.

The role will include:

- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of electrical and mechanical tradespeople and apprentices

- Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance around production requirements

- Allocating resources and responding effectively to plant breakdowns

- Driving plant reliability, uptime and maintenance performance

- Working closely with production, planning and engineering management

- Developing team capability through coaching, training and performance management

- Supporting longer-term maintenance planning and continuous improvement

- Maintaining strong safety, quality and operational standards

- Helping develop maintenance procedures and engineering strategies





- Supporting contractors and external technical specialists where required

The role also includes scheduling work around production, coordinating with the planning team and CMMS, and ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed to the required standard.

About you

We’re particularly interested in speaking with people who have:

- An electrical trade background, ideally with a current electrical licence

- Experience leading and developing maintenance or engineering teams

- Strong communication and people-management skills

- Experience in manufacturing, processing or another high-intensity industrial environment

- Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance

- The ability to manage breakdowns and competing operational priorities

- A practical, solutions-focused approach

- Strong commitment to safety and compliance

Experience within food manufacturing, meat processing, PLCs or automation would be advantageous, but the business is open to strong maintenance leaders from other manufacturing and processing environments.

The position operates in an early-start manufacturing environment and requires some flexibility outside standard hours, including participation in a rotating Saturday presence.
