This is a 7 month fixed term, part-time (0.8 FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency

The Role

Join our team as aMainstream Education Assistantand play an important role in supporting students to achieve their educational and personal goals. Working alongside teachers, you will contribute to the delivery of planned education programs and help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning setting.

As an Education Assistant you would be responsible for assisting with the care and supervision of students during class activities and in the delivery of planned education programs, with the ability to assist in teaching literacy, numeracy, and social skills. In this role, you will ideally collaborate and work in a team environment, possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of explicit teaching techniques, of individual or small group programs, as well as display the ability to support general health and well-being of students.

You will work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to provide care and supervision during classroom activities and assist with the implementation of planned programs, demonstrations and learning activities. You may also support students with the use of computers and other classroom resources.





Organisation and initiative are important in this role. You will assist with preparing and maintaining the learning environment by ensuring equipment, materials and resources are organised, accessible and ready for use. You will also ideally contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming classroom environment.
