No two days are the same in this dynamic role! One day youcould be helping a participant build their independent living skills and thenext day you could be out and about providing recreational support andcommunity access. This is a rewarding and wide-ranging role!
What you'll do:
- Provideperson-centred support to participants
- Assistparticipants in achieving their personal goals through meaningfulengagement
- Promotecommunity inclusion and social engagement
- Assistparticipants with community outings which may include recreationalactivities, appointments and religious activities
- Assistparticipants with their daily living skills and activities within the home
What you'll bring to the role:
- Experienceworking in partnership with people with disabilities and their families
- Experiencein the implementation of individuals support plans within a person centreative support framework
- Experiencesupporting individuals with their emotional regulation and usingimplemented strategies for positive behaviour support
- Experiencein supporting people with disability to actively engage in all aspects oftheir daily living
- Abilityto work as part of a team as well as independently with a 'can doattitude'
- Goodcomputer and report writing skills
- ValidFirst Aid certificate (not older than 12 months)
What you'll need:
- Minimumof two years’ experience supporting people with disabilities
- AustralianCitizenship or Full and unrestricted working rights for Australia
- Driver’slicence and vehicle for work use with comprehensive insurance
- Demonstratedcompletion of manual handling training within the last 12 months isDesirable
- CertificateIII in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
- Specifictraining related to disability, e.g. finger spelling, autism or others
- Mentalhealth experience is desirable
- NDISWorker Screening Check
- Certificateof the NDIS 'Quality, Safety & You' of the NDIS Workers OrientationModule
- Identitywahighly recommend COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations for all workers.
