About the role:

As the Manager of the Inter-Agency Information Sharing Service you will be responsible for overseeing a vibrant, friendly and diverse team within Regulatory Services, Enquiry & Data Sharing (RSEDS) at Victoria Police. The team undertakes important and meaningful work and are responsible for collaborating with a wide range of agencies who are working in the family violence and child protection sector.

The key remit of the service is to respond to Family Violence and Child Information Sharing requests for information from a wide range of agencies who are working in the family violence and child protection sector. The IISS also manages the sharing of information with the Social Services Regulator (SSR) under the Reportable Conduct Scheme and the Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme, and the Department of Social Services under the National Redress Scheme. The IISS team consists of two Assistant Managers, and twelve Senior Information Officers. The Manager also has oversight of sixteen VPS staff working for Victoria Police at the Central Information Point.

This unit offers a vibrant, friendly and positive culture with a team of individuals from varied professional backgrounds and experiences as well as the opportunity to contribute to genuinely meaningful work. Job specific training will be provided in relation to family violence and child safety and wellbeing as well as information management and systems training. This unit operates during regular business hours and there is no shift work, weekend, or public holiday requirements.

Your duties will include:

- Leading and managing the team;
- Identifying and managing emerging issues and risks;
- External and internal stakeholder management;
- Supporting the organisation's objectives, operating model and reform.

About You:

- Demonstrated experience leading and managing people;
- Highly developed critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- Robust understanding of the role that government and non-government agencies play in reducing family violence and promoting child safety and wellbeing;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience applying legislation and policy in an operational environment;
- Using and developing Information Technology that achieves efficiencies;
- An understanding of change management and the ability to lead a team through changing work practices
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
