Newcastle Community Mental Health Service is looking for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Clozapine team at the James Fletcher Hospital site.

Located at the James Fletcher Hospital site, Newcastle Community Mental Health Service provides high-quality mental health care within a collaborative and innovative environment.

You’ll become part of a multidisciplinary team committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for consumers and their families/carers.

About the role

As a Registered Nurse - Clozapine, you will provide outstanding clinical services to consumers and their families/carers, contributing to safe, effective and contemporary mental health care.

You’ll work within a busy and dynamic Mental Health Service, balancing independent practice with close collaboration across the multidisciplinary team.

Your responsibilities

- Providing high-quality clinical care to consumers accessing the Clozapine service.
- Supporting consumers and their families/carers through person-centred, recovery-focused care.
- Applying contemporary mental health nursing principles and practice.
- Working effectively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal consumer outcomes.
- Providing clinical consultation and support to GPs, CMOs and other service providers.




- Maintaining accurate clinical information across written, verbal and electronic formats.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse who is confident working in a fast‑paced clinical environment and passionate about delivering high-quality care.

Requirements

- Experience and knowledge of contemporary mental health practice, including Clozapine.
- An understanding of case management, shared‑care models and consumer and family/carer-focused interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical documentation and information management skills.
- Registered Nurse with current authority to practice with AHPRA.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work
- Demonstrated previous experience in Mental Health Nursing or possess an interest and eagerness to learn and broaden their skills in this area.
