The Mint offers some of the most unique career opportunitieswithin the public service, including roles such as:

- Coin making – polishing, laser frosting, 3Dengraving, Physical Vapour Deposition hard coating, chrome plating,dies inspection and collars manufacture.
- Machinery – operate and maintain minting criticalmachines.
- Coin Sculpting – design coins, medals, medallions,and token, etc.
- Graphic Design – design coin packaging materials,exhibition graphics, etc.
- Engineering – technical support and manufacturingoperations.

About the Role
The Royal Australian Mint's Legal Services Section is seeking aproactive and enthusiastic Legal Research Officer/ Paralegal toassist with a diverse range of legal matters including commerciallaw, employment law, contract and procurement support, privacy andfreedom of information.





The Legal Research Officer/ Paralegal will contribute totechnical excellence through research, analysis and knowledgesharing to support the delivery of high-quality advice to internaland external stakeholders. Drafting includes high-quality documentssuch as briefs, instruments, agreements, delegations, policies andcorrespondence.

In addition, the Legal Research Officer/ Paralegal plays a keyrole in delivering administrative and business support serviceswithin a busy and dynamic team. Working under limited direction,the position is responsible for managing administrative activities,maintaining accurate records and reporting systems, supportingfinancial and procurement processes, and contributing to informeddecision-making through research and analysis.

The role requires sound judgement, attention to detail, and theability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislativeframeworks while providing high-quality support to achieveorganisational outcomes.

The Duties
The duties of this position include:
1. Undertaking research relating to a wide range ofmatters including commercial, employment, privacy and informationlaw.
2. Providing accurate, well-written and timelyinformation and recommendations on the basis of this research.
3. Liaising with external agencies andstakeholders.
4. Drafting papers, reports and documents for internalstakeholders, the Board, executive and external parties. Criticallyevaluating data and ensuring that recommendations are supported byevidence.
5. Editing and formatting documents in line with theAustralian Government style guide.
6. Supporting financial and procurement processes.
7. Carrying out administrative tasks, such as managinginboxes and drafting operating procedures.
8. Supporting the General Counsel and SeniorLawyer.

Security
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. Thesuccessful applicant will be required to obtainand maintain aclerarance at this level.
