About the role

As a Registered Midwife within the Ngarrama Midwifery Group Practice, you will walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, providing continuity of care that is culturally safe, responsive and grounded in evidence‑based practice. Working within the Caboolture Ngarrama Program, you will support improved maternal and infant health outcomes through woman, baby and family centred care.You will work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and a broader interprofessional healthcare team to deliver care across hospital and community settings, including clinic and home visits. This role focuses on building strong relationships with women and families, promoting cultural safety, supporting health equity and providing high‑quality midwifery care tailored to the needs, values and preferences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based midwifery care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation across the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal continuum.

Develop and coordinate individualised care plans in partnership with women and families, ensuring care reflects cultural values, preferences and health needs.





Champion culturally safe and responsive healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, babies and families while promoting health equity and respectful relationships.

Work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, multidisciplinary teams, communities and support services to coordinate care and improve access to culturally appropriate healthcare.

Provide education and support to women and families, contribute to continuous quality improvement activities and actively engage in professional development and evidence‑based practice.
