About the Role
As Senior Overseer, you'll lead plumbing maintenance operations, mentor Overseers and develop inmates through practical workplace training that supports rehabilitation and future employment. You'll plan and coordinate maintenance, manage resources and budgets, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality service delivery across the correctional complex. What you’ll do:
- Lead, coach and mentor Overseers to achieve operational outcomes
- Plan and oversee plumbing maintenance across the correctional complex
- Train and develop inmates in practical trade skills and work readiness
- Promote a safe, skilled and quality-focused workplace
- Manage resources, budgets and workflows for efficient service delivery
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and Corrective Services NSW policies
- Support offender rehabilitation through the Work Readiness Program
What you’ll bring
We're looking for a confident and capable leader who can motivate others while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.
- Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or willingness to obtain within timeframe set out by CSNSW
- Current driver licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role
- Relevant trade qualifications: minimum NSW Plumbing Contractor license, NSW Plumbing Supervisor Certificate and proven post trade experience
- Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description
- Must be willing and able to; work within an after-hours on-call roster, work overtime, work flexibly across trades to meet operational needs
