About the role
As a Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our facilities. You will oversee aquatic operations, supervise centre staff, monitor pool safety and water quality, and ensure facilities, equipment and pool surrounds are maintained to a high standard. You will respond to operational issues, support staff to deliver exceptional customer service and make confident day-to-day decisions to ensure a secure, welcoming and well-run aquatic environment for our community.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the safe and effective day-to-day operation of the aquatic facility, including pool plant, equipment, pool surrounds, programs and staff.
- Supervise and support facility staff.
- Monitor pool water quality and undertake routine pool plant operations including pool testing, backwashing and chemical dosing.
- Lead and support staff on shift, including allocating duties, managing breaks, responding to absences and assisting with staff inductions and development.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer, staff and operational issues, using sound judgement to resolve problems and elevate matters where required.
- Ensure the facility maintains high standards of safety, presentation, customer service and compliance with relevant Safe Pool Operations requirements and City procedures.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for experienced aquatic professionals and confident supervisors who can take the lead in a busy leisure environment.
You will have strong knowledge of aquatic operations, pool safety and the ability to supervise and support the team. You will be confident managing competing priorities, responding quickly to operational issues and making sound decisions in situations where safety is paramount.
You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong customer focus and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, patrons, user groups and other stakeholders.
- Be willing to work mornings, evenings and weekends
- Provide First Aid Certificate.
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
- Working with Children Check.
- Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate preferable.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Chief Warden training (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
