The Team
Located on the stunning East Coast of Tasmania, St. Helens District Hospital has Tasmania’s busiest rural emergency department, with an increase in emergency presentations during peak tourist season from December until April. The hospital provides a fast-paced environment that delivers high-quality patient centred care. Our focus is on providing excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role
The Home Help Personal Carer will
- Perform essential household and personal care duties as assessed and documented in the client’s care plan.
- Transport relevant equipment to the clients’ homes to perform household and personal care duties.
- Provide feedback to staff coordinating the service of any significant changes in the clients’ health status
You will need
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, performing domestic duties for the aged and/or people with a disability within their own home.
- Awareness of Agency policies and procedures and an understanding of confidentiality and right of clients’
- Ability to establish and maintain effective written and verbal communication with clients and Community Health team members, and the ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$59,668 to $65,185 per annu m (Pro rata) . Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withPublic Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Current Driver’s Licence
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate 3 in Individual Support / Aged Care or other relevant qualifications if employed to provide personal care
- Current first aid certificate
