Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

- Salary range: $106.39 to $134.90 p.h. (L18 - L27)
- 5 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)




- Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
- Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave

About your opportunity:

As a paediatric surgeon at the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS), there is an exciting range of surgical challenges including emergent and planned neonatal surgery, general paediatric surgery, thoracic, burns, trauma, and the ongoing management of critically ill paediatric surgical patients. Outreach to our neighbouring hospitals across North Queensland, Mackay, Cairns, north to the Torres Strait Islands and West to Mt Isa is provided both physically and virtually. The work is interesting with a diverse range of pathology and clinical conditions in a population with high representation of First Nations people.

Requirements:

Fellowship or comparability of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and / or eligible for registration as a paediatric surgeon with the Medical Board of Australia. Fellows in paediatric surgery, and trainees toward the completion of this sub-specialty, are encouraged to submit an application. All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the Townsville HHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. Possession of class C drivers' licence. Travel may be required for this position. This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Probation period may apply. Pre‑employment checks will be conducted.
