About the Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a podiatry department that offers experience in multidisciplinary care within a high-risk foot team. We are seeking a new graduate/recent graduate or Podiatrist wanting a tree change to public health to join this team of dynamic and dedicated group of clinicians. In this role, under the direction of the Lead Podiatrist, you will be an integral member of the interdisciplinary high-risk foot service, collaborating with a range of multi-disciplinary clinicians including endocrinologists, vascular specialists, diabetes educators, wound CNCs to name a few.

You will provide care to both inpatients and outpatients presenting with acute foot complications. Our High-Risk Podiatry Team is committed to implementing a coordinated, multidisciplinary model of care for patients experiencing high-risk foot complications and is a recognised National Association of Diabetes Centres Centre of Excellence site with the service annually contributing to the Australian high-risk foot service database and engaging in several quality improvements projects. The Podiatry department also provides peer support and clinical supervision structures, experience in student supervision programs, internal and external continuing professional development activities, presenting and disseminating information at District,



national and international conferences to ensure exceptional patient care is delivered. Staff also contribute to research, data collection, quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development through structed clinical supervision, journal clubs and patient care conferencing.

Are you the right fit?

The successful candidate will gain experience in high risk foot care and a multidisciplinary team in a strong supportive team environment that is recognised as a HRFS Centre of Excellence. It is open to new graduates/recent graduates/ current Podiatrists and also any current students who will be graduating at the end of the year.

They will develop skills in advanced wound care and offloading, work in both inpatients and outpatients in the care of charcot -osteo arthropathy and foot ulcerations.

Selection Criteria

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team managing complex case loads.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
- Involvement in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.

Clinical knowledge, skills and experience in high risk foot pathologies.
