Your key responsibilities:
- Develop, communicate and implement enterprise-level IM planning activities and initiatives, including assisting in the development of strategic and operational plans.
- Consult and participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of information management schema, policies and procedures that contribute to business outcomes for the department whilst aligning with the broader Whole-of Government strategic direction.
- Provide advice and guidance on use and investment in artificial intelligence, including risk assessment, information management and security considerations.
- Develop, maintain and foster a high-level of client focus and a commitment to quality customer service which you will demonstrate by your group facilitation, negotiation and strong communication skills.
- You will bring these to solving IM problems, while leading and working with communities of practice as our department moves to adopt up-to-date, digital first IM practices.
- Manage and coordinate initiatives within the department, ensuring they support IM maturity uplift objectives.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability:
- Detailed knowledge of current and emerging Information Management trends, standards and practices including content service platforms, use of Microsoft and collaboration tools and managing their impact on IM.
- Ability to provide strategic advice, oral and written, to senior officers on contemporary information management and technology issues, and their potential to impact the department's goals.
- Analyses and advises management of the impact of Whole-of-Government IM and ICT strategies, plans, policies, projects, programs and methodologies.
- Participate collaboratively in a small team, contributing to a work environment characterised by initiative, innovation and equity and positively support decision making to ensure the Department is increasingly capable of achieving Government objectives.
- Negotiates or exchanges ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions.
- Works independently and follows through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated change management and facilitation skills to improve business engagement and adoption of contemporary IM practices.
- Contributes to workplace equity, diversity, respect and inclusion that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position as required.
