About the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA)
The VictorianEarly ChildhoodRegulatory Authority (VECRA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services in Victoria. VECRA works to ensure the safety,wellbeingand development of children through effective regulation, compliance, qualityassessmentand continuous improvement across the early childhood sector.
VECRA plays a critical systemmanagementrole, providing guidance, oversight and assurance to the sector while supporting high-quality early childhood education outcomes for Victorian children and families.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and highly capable professional to join the Regulatory Authority as a Strategic Advisor.
Reporting to the Regulator, the Strategic Advisor manages emerging issues and risks and supports the effective coordination of organisational priorities and accountabilities across the entity. The role provides strategic and technical advice on a broad range of entity-wide matters, drives priority projects and initiatives, supports quality assurance, and ensures timely and coordinated responses to complex and sensitive issues.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience in government, performance improvement, and sector and stakeholder engagement,
together with a strong understanding of the Regulatory Authority's operating workplace, challenges and opportunities. They will demonstrate strong judgement and leadership, with the ability to prioritise effectively, develop creative solutions to complex problems, and adapt in a high-pressure environment.
The role requires excellent stakeholder engagement, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Diplomacy, discretion, and the capacity to provide high-quality strategic advice in a complex environment will be critical to success in the role.
The position also involves preparing speeches, presentations, briefings and other materials, and supporting high-level meetings, discussions and decision-making processes. The role works closely with senior staff, sector stakeholders, and Ministers' and the Secretary's offices.
This position has line management responsibility for an Executive Assistant.
