About the Division
Working in our Student Support Services team is deeply meaningful, highly rewarding, challenging, and dynamic and gives you the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the lives of children and young people, their families, schools, and communities.You'll work with a diverse group of people who share a common goal, and you will be well supported to use your professional skills and knowledge to provide specialised support at the individual, group, school, and area level. Our dynamic team comprises Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Behavioural Analyst, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers. You will also work with other Area and regional staff, such as, Education Improvement Leaders, Visiting Teachers, School Nurses and Professional Practice Leaders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes in schools.
About the Roles
The Western Melbourne Area, Department of Education is looking for qualified and experienced Psychologists and Social Workers to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) team in Melbourne Maribyrnong in supporting schools to address the barriers to learning that impact on student(s) progress to achieving their educational goals and development potential.This is a part time (.6FTE) ongoing position with flexible work arrangements, based in our modeern Footsrcay office.Working with our SSS team you will have access to:
- Structured induction and a range of regular professional development opportunities, e.g. Peer and 1:1 supervision/coaching - both discipline specific and team based peers
- Mentors to help build a skilled career
- Implementation of a range of innovative practice opportunities that help to meet all, some and individualised student need, e.g. Combination of consultation and direct work with students and teachers
- Working with teachers and school leaders to influence (system) change
- Access to up to date resources and technology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Applicants are required to have a current Working With Children check.
