The role:

The scope of this role sits within Coles Group Limited, supporting all brands across the Coles Group Portfolio (i.e.Supermarkets,Liquor, Distribution Centres, RROAand Chef Fresh). The Coles Group consists of 115,000team membersspanning across Australia. Reporting into thePayroll Compliance Manager, thePayroll Business Analystwillworkto continuously improve the Coles Payroll risk profileand close anypotential exposuregaps.

The primary objectivesof the PayrollBusiness Analyst are toperform compliance checks across the payroll landscape toaddressany risks of non-compliance with relevantindustrial instruments/legislation,improve ways of working(e.g. automation),supportdelivery ofreviewsand implement stronger internal controlsto reduce the overallColes Payrollrisk profile.

Role Objectives:

To provide oversight and compliance assurance across the payroll landscape with the core purpose of championing a consistent approach to payroll across Coles brands and reducing payroll non-compliance risk.

Toexecutethe suite of compliance reportsand improve testing to enable payroll compliance risks to beresolvedin real timewith training provided to the business to uplift payroll capability.

Proactivelyidentify, mitigate (whereappropriate)and review large data sets toidentifyareas of non-compliance and elevate/addresskey risksidentifiedacross the payroll landscape.

Tohave a continuous improvement mindset to drive improvement to process and generate efficiencies.

To develop, execute and communicate onreviewswhenrequired,



uplift internal capability within Coles andsupport embedment ofa Way of Working that enables larger scalereview.

Proactively develop andmaintainrelationships with a wide variety ofstakeholders(including store operations), understanding and responding to team dynamics in an effective manner.

You’ll have:

5+ years’ professional experience in business analysis, system, process improvement, and change management in a large and complex organisations

Strong Microsoft skills including Exceland PowerPoint

Ability to handlelarge volumes of data to support in Payroll Compliance reviews

An ability to use AI tools e.g. Chat GPT

Understandingof risk management principles

Understanding of payroll practices and industrial instruments

Proven ability to take complex problems and create pragmatic decisions that align to business strategiesandcompliance requirements (legislative)

Proven interpersonal and organisational skills with an ability to develop andmaintainnetworks within Coles across businesses and functions

Ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, projects and to work under pressure to deadlines

Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver messages in a clear,compellingand concise manner across a variety of audiences and modes

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualified

Demonstratedstrong performancein a Business Analyst, process governance, and/or project management role

Requires working knowledge of payroll and business process management

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.Proven ability to meet tight deadlines

Very strongattention to detail, workethicand time management skills

Ability toidentifyopportunities to deliver outcomes in a better and smarter manner

Ability tomaintainpayroll confidentiality supported by integrity and transparency

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work with and manage a wide variety of stakeholders
