TSocial Services Regulator
The Social Services Regulator (SSR) is an independent statutory authority that exists to safeguard the rights of children and young people as well as people who use social services in Victoria.
The SSR regulates the Social Services Standards, the Child Safe Standards (for organisations without a sector specific co-regulator as well as the social services sector), and also administers the Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme (WCES), Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) and Working with Children Clearance (WWC Clearance) scheme and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
The Social Services Regulator takes an integrated and intelligence driven approach to identifying, preventing and excluding unsafe people from working with children and young people, as well as ensuring organisations that work with children and young people keep children safe from abuse and harm by meeting the Child Safe Standards.
As a co-regulator of the Child Safe Standards, the Social Services Regulator works with other co-regulators of the Child Protected Standards including the Department of Health, Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), Victorian Early Childhood Regulation Authority (VECRA), and Workforce Inspectorate Victoria to keep children safe from harm and abuse.
THE ROLE
The Adviser, Education and capacity Building plans and delivers communication, education and capacity building activities that support the Social Services Regulator's (SSR) priorities, education objectives and stakeholder engagement outcomes
The Adviser Education and Capacity Building will support the development of high-quality educational and guidance materials that
- meet the needs of our diverse audiences across the child safety and social services sectors
- promote improved compliance with each of the schemes the SSR regulates or administers
- contribute to safer systems for people who use social services and children.
The Adviser will support build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including in complex and sensitive environments. Drawing on communication, education and stakeholder engagement expertise, the Adviser will contribute to identifying emerging risks and issues, responding to stakeholder needs and supporting a consistent, coordinated and practical approach to education and capacity building.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Support the development and implementation of communication and engagement plans that contribute to education, awareness and behaviour change campaigns, regulatory initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Prepare high-quality and timely communication and education materials to support the Social Services Regulator including external-facing guidance material, stakeholder newsletters, fact sheets, Q&As.;
- Develop, support and administer the delivery of high-quality presentations, webinars and events.
- Support and coordinate communities of practice.
- Coordinate the planning, delivery and evaluation of education, awareness and behaviour change campaigns, including stakeholder consultation, creative development, approvals, implementation and reporting
