- Advanced neurological assessment and recognition of patient deterioration.
- Management and monitoring of lumbar drains and External Ventricular Drains (EVDs).
- Free flap observations and postoperative reconstructive surgery care.
- Care of patients undergoing complex neurosurgical and plastic surgery procedures.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Describe your recent nursing experience in an acute care, surgical or specialty setting. How have you applied clinical assessment skills, recognised and escalated patient deterioration, and delivered secure, patient-centred care to patients with complex healthcare needs?

The Neurosurgery & Plastics Unit provides opportunities to develop advanced skills in neurological assessment, specialised drain management and postoperative reconstructive surgery care. Describe a time when you worked collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support a patient's care and explain how you have embraced learning opportunities to develop your clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.
