The Surface Water Assessment and Modelling Team plays a key role in ensuring that decisions about Victoria’s surface water resources are supported by the best-available information, surface water assessments and modelling. The Water Resource Analyst will support water resource modelling and related activities to support decision making. This position was created to meet DEECA’s commitment to increase national modelling capability under the National Hydrologic Modelling Strategy.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification in science or engineering is mandatory.
- Knowledge of modelling, technical data analysis or coding (especially Python) is desirable
- Knowledge of Victorian water supply systems, including river operations and water user behaviours, is desirable
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
We support flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work, varied hours, part time work and job sharing.
Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period. Appointment to an ongoing position is only available to an Australian/New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
