About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join Campbelltown Council during a period of growth and expansion. The purpose of this position is to actively promote the growth of the local government area by the efficient determination of planning and building applications provide advice to both internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

- Tertiary qualifications in building surveying with a minimum registration of building surveyor restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings) under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018.
- General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card) and current class C driver’s licence.
- Sound knowledge of legislation relating to development and building control, with particular regard to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Regulations, the Local Government Act 1993 and Regulations and the Building Code of Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large workload including planning and building applications, where there are competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a risk-based approach in recommending and determining planning and building applications.




- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles.
