Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Motor Mechanic to join our busy transport and fleet operations team in Brookvale, NSW. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing Postify Logistics’ fleet of commercial delivery vehicles and light transport equipment. Working directly with our workshop and fleet management team, you will ensure our entire vehicle fleet operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime to support daily delivery schedules.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesDetect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in commercial delivery vans and transport vehicles.
2. Perform routine preventive maintenance, comprehensive servicing, safety inspections, and system tune-ups across company fleet vehicles.
3. Repair, dismantle, replace, and overhaul worn or defective mechanical components including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
4. Test and adjust repaired mechanical components, engine control modules, and auxiliary equipment using modern diagnostic tools and electronic scanning software.
5. Inspect, service, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel injection, cooling, and exhaust systems to maintain peak vehicle performance and compliance.
6. Perform road tests on vehicles to diagnose functional issues and verify the effectiveness of completed repairs.

Maintain detailed fleet maintenance logs, digital repair logs, service histories, and inspection records in accordance with operational compliance standards.
8. Source, order, and manage workshop spare parts, tools, consumables, and mechanical inventory to ensure cost-effective fleet maintenance.
9. Ensure all workshop and mechanical activities strictly comply with Australian transport safety standards, workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) guidelines.
10. Collaborate closely with fleet dispatch managers and operational teams to schedule routine servicing and minimize delivery vehicle downtime.
About You / Requirements●Relevant Trade Qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (e.g., Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification).
●Proven experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic working with commercial vans, light commercial fleets, or light vehicles.
●Strong diagnostic capabilities using electronic engine management diagnostic tools and mechanical testing equipment.
●Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (Manual endorsement preferred).
●High attention to detail, commitment to road safety compliance, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic workshop environment.
