We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Support Teacher to join our dedicated Learning Support team at St Anne's Junior Campus in Sale.
This is a fixed term, full-time position for Term 4, 2026.
The role is responsible for identifying and supporting students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with teachers and families, and implementing effective intervention programs that promote academic success, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Working closely with classroom teachers, Learning Assistants, parents, and external specialists, the Learning Support Teacher will play a key role in ensuring students receive the adjustments, interventions, and support required to fully engage in school life.
Key Responsibilities Student Learning and Support
- Maintain and review learning support programs to ensure they reflect current best practice.
- Identify students who are at risk or require additional assistance to participate effectively in the classroom.
- Assess and determine students who may require curriculum adjustments, including extension or remediation.
- Develop, implement, and monitor targeted intervention strategies and learning adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interventions, progress, and adjustments.
Collaboration and Communication
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and relevant professionals regarding students experiencing learning difficulties.
- Maintain regular communication with parents concerning student progress and support plans.
- Attend Student Support Group (SSG)
meetings and contribute to planning and review processes for students requiring additional support.
Supporting Staff and Student Wellbeing
- Act as a resource and mentor to classroom teachers in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Support Learning Assistants in developing and implementing effective strategies for student support.
- Advocate for Learning Support initiatives and inclusive practices across the school community.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A passion for inclusive education and student wellbeing.
- Robust knowledge of learning difficulties, disabilities, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to support teachers and Learning Assistants in implementing effective classroom adjustments and interventions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Relevant qualifications in Education.
- Experience in Learning Support, Inclusive Education, Special Education, or a related field will be highly regarded.
