How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
- Perform electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, fault finding and repair across company facilities and infrastructure.
- Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns in a timely and safe manner.
- Install, maintain and repair electrical infrastructure including lighting, power outlets, switchboards, cabling, emergency lighting and associated equipment.
- Support electrical works associated with facility upgrades, renovations, new installations and construction projects.
- Maintain electrical infrastructure supporting workshops, manufacturing areas, laboratories, offices and other operational spaces.
- Respond to electrical emergencies,
breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimise disruption to business operations.
- Ensure all electrical work is undertaken in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, Australian Standards, permits and company procedures.
- Conduct and document electrical inspections, testing and preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical assets, maintenance activities, inspections, testing, repairs and defects.
- Identify electrical hazards and implement or recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Work collaboratively with Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and other internal teams to support electrical requirements.
- Provide technical advice to the Facilities Manager and broader Facilities team on electrical systems, equipment and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with external electrical contractors and service providers where specialist support is required.
- Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules for electrical assets.
- Maintain appropriate electrical tools, equipment, consumables and spare parts.
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives relating to electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Participate in workplace inspections, risk assessments, toolbox meetings and safety initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve the safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability of electrical systems and facilities.
- Other duties as requested by Management
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current unrestricted electrical licence relevant to the jurisdiction in which the role is based.
- Current driver's licence.
- Construction Induction (White Card) or ability to obtain one, where required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working as a qualified electrician in commercial, industrial or facilities environments.
- Experience performing electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault finding.
- Experience working with electrical distribution systems, switchboards, lighting and general power systems.
- Demonstrated experience undertaking preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Experience working safely within established electrical safety procedures and permit systems.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience completing maintenance records, inspection documentation and compliance requirements.
